The time has come for the Toronto Dingos Football Club to celebrate another successful year both on and off the field.  This Saturday night (Oct 20th), the boys and their wives/girlfriends will gather at Fionn McCool's downtown for a night of good food, drinks, and awards.  After two seasons of having the Awards Night at Kramer's Bar & Grill uptown, longtime Dingos player Everett "Spider" Wells pushed for the move to the downtown location, where he bartends. "Just be sure to tip your bartenders," Spider said.  "I get a cut of that, even if I'm not working."  The club has booked off a private room and the night will feature a three-course meal and drinks subsidized by the club.
As is traditional, the Dingos will be handing out a large number of awards, with the focus on the week-by-week tally of the Best & Fairest votes, for both Aussies and Canadians.
Two-time defending Best & Fairest (Aus) winner Craig Stewart tried not to sound too smug when discussing his chances of another victory, "I've got this in the bag.Skip the tally and just give me the award."
Despite Stewy's confidence, most bookies have the B&F (Aus.) race as wide-open contest with players such as Mick McFarlane, Justin Robertson, Anthony O'Brien, and Rick Strezovski all being given a shot at the title.
"I'd put my money on Robbo," said longtime Dingo Chris Buczkowski.  "None on Shauny, though. He's going to get zero votes."
On the Canadian side, the B&F race will feature three 2012 OAFL All-Stars; Jimmy Duggan, Tom Bell, and David Wells, all vying for the win.  But don't count out a challenge from dark horse candidates, such as Yoni "Who?" Moussadji or Ramsey "Ding Dong" Blacklock, the 2011 winner of the Most Improved Player Award.  It should be an exciting night!
Other Awards which will be handed out:
Coach's Award
Most Improved Player
Clubman Award
Division 2 Best & Fairest
Goalkicking Award
Rookie of the Year
and Game Milestones for a number of longtime players
Hope to see everyone there!
