G'Day,
Welcome to the 2020 W&DJFL season, especially to our new Under 12 players and parents. We have recently been informed that the season will commence on Saturday, 28th March, 2020, with the actual draw yet to be officially released.
Club Training
The club's teams will commence training on the following dates -
- U/17's - Wed, 5th Feb, 5 pm and then Monday's & Wednesday's onwards
- U/14's - Wed, 12th Feb, 5 pm and then Monday's & Wednesday's onwards
- U/12's - Wed, 26th Feb, 5 pm and every Wednesday onwards.
All players MUST wear their club training tops to training & bring your footy boots and runners initially.
Club BBQ
A club BBQ will be held immediately after training on Wednesday, 26th Feb at the Barr Reserve at about 6 pm. Sausages and soft drinks / water will be available for all players.
Club Merchandise
Club Merchandise will be on display and available to purchase for cash on Wednesday, 26th Feb at around 5.30 pm at our clubrooms.

This is compulsory player registration, which includes player insurance cover.
Please, Please fill in all required questions, especially your child's medical history. Club volunteers do not have to pay a fee, but still need to register. Sports Trainer's Course

The club really requires trainers for both our Under 12's and 14 sides and will reimburse any parent for the couse fee.
Club Duty Rosters
Our club really appreciates parental involvement both on & off the field and we welcome YOU with open arms & please remember that ALL Volunteers / Parents are a very beneficial part of our club moving forward.
Volunteer rostering is a very important part of club management & this newsletter will have the club's weekly rosters that all parents are responsible for participating in once the season starts.
It's important to remember the date & venue of your rostered day on so our club works together as a team & creates a good environment & club culture of sharing the work load, as not to over burden the club's current committee members.

W&DJFL - AGM
The W&DJFL – AGM is on Monday, 3rd Feb, 2018 at 6.30 pm in the Wangaratta FNC Clubrooms, in which our two club delegates will attend.
Jumper Presentation Night
The club will hold it's annual Jumper Presentation Night approximately two weeks prior to the start of the season. A date & venue will be set shortly.
Next Committee Meeting
The next committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, 25th Feb at 7pm at the Wangaratta Club. All players & parents are more than welcome. It would be great to get some new parents onboard.

Headcheck Concussion App
A new online app has been released to help support football communities manage concussion for children aged 5-18.
Developed by world leading concussion experts at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) and the AFL.
The new HeadCheck app helps Trainers & Coaches to recognise the symptoms of a suspected concussion and its severity.
Working with Children Card

Centrals JFC - No Smoking Policy
The Centrals Junior FC recognised that passive smoking (inhaling second-hand smoke) is hazardous to health and that non-smokers should be protected from tobacco smoke.
Passive smoking can lead to other serious illnesses such as bronchitis, lung cancer, cardiovascular disease, and chest illnesses in children.
Accordingly the attached club policy has recently been developed by the club, effective immediately to help protect people's health.
