Welcome back to the hangar for another season.
It’s hard to believe that our last campaign finished off five months ago and that it’s time to get back into it all.
There’s a real feeling of excitement, with the senior footballers already having a solid bank of fitness training under their belts as they attempt to go one better than last year’s runners-up finish.
Coach Gareth Hose has reported really solid numbers, including a host of new recruits and graduates from our junior program, which is likely to mean fierce competitions for spots in both the seniors and reserves.
In the junior footy we have a new look coaching panel with Danny Hughes taking on the u/17s role while Simon Trigg will mentor the u/14s. Matt Treacy will continue his good work with the Auskick kids.
Netball wise the girls are prepared to make a big charge up the ladder with club legend Fiona Rowe taking on the A and B Grade coaching job with Megan Byrne her assistant.
Suze McKenry and Danica Turvey will coach the 17 & under, Sharon Fedke the 15 & under, Brodie Jenkins and Hayley Mills the 13 & under and Fiona and Mikayla Treacy the Net Set Go girls.
There has also been a change in the club’s administration with Andrew Rose replacing Tim Kelly in the president’s chair.
It has been a busy off-season with a lot of great progress around the club, but it has also been tinged with sadness with the loss of several people around our fantastic club and we send our condolences to the Batson, Jones and Hobbs families
From here on the season will be on us before we know it, with highlights including a first up chance to tackle the football reigning premiers in Harrow-Balmoral and a night game against arch-rivals Natimuk United.
Let’s all get together and put in the hard yards and make this a year to remember for the mighty Bombers!
