Junior referees
If you are 13 and over and would like to earn some extra money, consider becoming a referee. Please email the Referee Coordinator at referees@wmfc.org.au.
To become a qualified junior referee, you will need to complete on of the appropriate courses below. The cost of the courses will be reimbursed to you by the Club at the end of your first refereeing season, after you email the receipt to referees@wmfc.org.au. Instructing Referee - Game Leader (GL)
This is course has been specifically designed for new junior referees aged 13 and 14. At the completion of this course you will be able to referee small sided games from under 6 to under 11.
This is a practical course taking 2½ hours.
Cost $40 includes course fees, an instructing referee shirt, a Fox40 Whistle, and registration as a Capital Football Referee.
Becoming an Instructing Referee is the first step in referee pathway. It is great way to be involved in community football, develop leadership skills, improve confidence, develop communication skills and earn some money.

Level 4 Referee
This course is designed for new referees of all ages who want to referee junior football (It is recommended for new referees aged 14 years and above). At the completion of this course you will be able to referee 11 v 11 matches
Level 4 Courses are the beginners courses for refereeing full field games. Courses are run over a full day of classroom work and a self-guided online Laws of the Game module beforehand. In addition there will be a practical session to the theory component to complete the course.You will need to complete the FFA Laws of the Game online here before you can undertake the course.

The Level 4 referee course is accredited by FFA. It is great way to be involved in community football, develop leadership skills, improve confidence, develop communication skills and earn some money. The Level 4 Referee qualification provides the pathway to senior and elite refereeing.
