'FFA Coaching Grassroots Football Handbook'  which is a very useful resource for coaching Under 6 - Under 11 teams.

FFA National Curriculum  answers the questions:

  • How should Australians play football?
  • What skills and style best suit our nation and our hundreds of thousands of players?

These are fundamental questions that should engage the minds of everyone involved in the game from the professional tier to the grassroots. The FFA National Football Curriculum not only provides answers, but explains the philosophy behind how we should play and illustrates practical steps that bring the thinking to life in training and matches.

Team Sheets

Newcastle Football is now levying fines for incorrect team sheets as it has become apparent that a lot of Teams are not correctly filling in the team sheets for their games. The major problems so far have been:-

  • 1 person (whether Coach, Manager or Team Official) not writing the name of the players on the Team Sheet before the players sign. The names are to be in one person’s handwriting and the names legible. (ie the players are not allowed to fill in their names - they can sign the team sheet)

  • Player names only written as Christian names

  • Signatures not correct

  • Team Officials not signing for correct scores etc. at the end of the game

Please ensure you are familiar with team sheet requirements (see instructions below)

SSF – coaches on the field

For SSF U/8’s, U/9’s & U/10’s  - all Coaches are restricted to the interchange area.

Coaches of U/6 & U/7’s have the option to be on the field if required.
