Grand Final 2012 - The Journey comes to an end for the Dogs

The Eagles came out of the blocks fast and could not be chased down, despite some tougher and impressive patches of footy in the third and fourth quarters by the Dogs.

Christchurch Bulldogs 9.9-63 def. by Mid-Canterbury Eagles 19.7-121
Despite a gutsy effort by the Bulldogs in windy Ashburton they were defeated by the Eagles. The bulldogs were 2 players short for the entire match with the Eagles having a full bench. Despite being in the hunt for most of the game, in the end the Eagles kicked clear in the final quarter.

In a fiery fourth round clash the Bulldogs crushed last year's other grand finalists, the Eastern Blues. The fire was well and truly supplied by the Bulldogs flame haired centre half forward, Izaak Williams as he kicked goal after goal in the first half until he was dragged for overshadowing his teams efforts. In the other match, University beat the Eagles to grab a firm hold of second spot.

Bulldogs make it a 3-peat in the MacKenzie Basin

The Bulldogs took an inexperienced team to Fairlie for the 3rd annual MacKenzie trophy game and took out a hard fought match 8.11.59 to 7.9.51. New recruit Wayne Sullivan was solid all day, along with Robbie Lange in defense and emerging talent James Stevenson in the ruck and up forward. Premiership captain Steve Langridge took the whistle for the day and was also in charge of capturing the days events on video which can be viewed HERE.

Second Bulldogs BBQ a (damp) success at Harvey Norman Northwood

The second Bulldogs BBQ at Harvey Norman Northwood turned a tidy profit, albeit smaller than the swag of cash raised at December's BBQ at the same venue. Conditions consppired against us on the Sunday with Mother Nature turning on the tap and washing away any chance of a record breaking day. All is well though and a 3rd BBQ is scheduled for August.

Christchurch Bulldogs win the 2009 Grand Final!

The Bulldogs’ maiden premiership is testament to the tenacity and determination of Steve Langridge to make the move from the University Cougars in 2006 to form the Bulldogs. In 2007 the Bulldogs struggled for numbers, in 2008 they stepped up to be a competitive team and in 2009 have taken all before them and gone through the competition undefeated.
