Round 1 Match Report Vs Boulder
Colts:
Unfortunately for the Colts kids, we came agonisingly close to putting the required 14 players out for a game with 13 players available.
We are very hopeful with two more Colts players signing on Saturday as well as clearances pending for Norseman players that we will put a team out next weekend against Railways.
Reserves:
Due to having 8 league players unavailable for selection, the depth was tested and the boys rallied to gather the numbers to put together a Ressies team. Credit to all those who pulled on the jumper and gave it a red hot crack.
The end result was;
Boulder 13.15.93 Vs Kambalda 4.8.32

League:
The league team were dealt some cruel blows before the game with Jordan Daly breaking his hand against Gibson, Ben Andrews tearing his hamstring at training on Thursday night, Jamie Hayes rolling his ankle in the intra club scratchy and Ryan Seale, Adam Bovalino, Dave Manning all away with prior commitments.
Nevertheless, a full team was put on the park and opportunities presented to a number of players who have earned their spot during the pre-season. Congratulations to Riley Field who made his League debut after an outstanding pre-season.
Giving credit where it's due, the 2014 Boulder outfit are a very different team to that of 2013 and will cause numerous headaches for teams during the season. They were very well drilled and disciplined and managed to hurt Kambalda repeatedly on the turnovers. Even with a handful of players coming back into the side, the challenge is going to be on the players now to get on the track and continue to work hard at our game day structures and game plan.
The end result was;
Boulder 14.15.99 Vs Kambalda 4.6.30

Next Game. Round 2 Saturday 12th April. Home Vs Railways. Colts 2pm, Ressies 4pm, League 6pm.
In our attempts to foster better relationships with other GFL clubs, all players are asked to bring a casserole dish. Railways will remain after the game for dinner and awards and the favour will be repaid when we play away at Railways.
See everyone back down at the club next week as we look to reverse this weeks result and get some wins on the board.
Go the Mighty Eagle Boys!!!!
