Todays interview is with our favourite Irish man (sorry Gaz) Robert Fitzhugh:
Q. How did you hear of the Toronto Dingos?
A. I found out about the Dingos by joining the
winter running club on meet-up.
Q. What sport did you play prior to Aussie Rules?
A. Mainly Basketball and touch rugby
Q. How do you find the cross over, what is difficult/easy?
A. Difficult but rewarding
Q. What do you like best about the game?
A. The speed and pace
Q. What are you favourite things about being a Dingo?
A. Great training sessions and great support at the games.
For a person just taking up a sport it makes all the difference.
Allows you to make mistakes and not feel judged while at the same
time giving you the confidence to put yourself out there and go for it.
Q. What are your goals for the season?
A. To have more of an impact in a game, I just want to walk off the pitch
and feel like I contributed. That requires getting my skills up and having the
confidence to know when to use them
Q. Who is your favourite Dingo and why?
A. Gaz because he will be reading these questions. Na, there would be a few
but it would have to be Gary, he introduced me to the sport and is on hand without
fail for advice and suggestions. You never feel stupid asking a question or looking for
help and it's reassuring to know that you have that support
Q. Best moment with the club so far?
A. Scoring a goal in my first game was nice but I don't feel over the whole
game I deserved it so I would say that any time I feel I'm learning from a mistake
or applying something new in a game that shows that I am improving
is a nice moment.
