The Toronto Dingos dropped their 3rd straight AFLO match on July 14th, losing in Hamilton to the surging Hamilton Wildcats. Despite an excellent first quarter were the Dingos jumped out to an early lead, the Cats proved to be too much on their home ground and held the Red and Black goaless for much of the 2nd and 3rd quarter. In the end, the deficit became too much to mount a comeback, and the hometown Cats took the match 13.7-85 to 7.9-51.

MATCH REPORT:
Round 9 saw the Dingos travel to Hamilton to play the up and down Wildcats in a crucial match that would see the victor move up in the standings, solidifying a playoff spot.
The Dingos started out strong. Controlling the ball for the entire quarter and having many shots on goal. Butch’s game plan was followed to a “T” but unfortunately, inaccurate kicking cost the red and black a sizeable lead, as the quarter ran out 3.6.24 to 2.2.14, with Stewy kicking all 3 in the first.
During the second quarter, the boys from Steeltown, started to exert themselves and kicked 3 unanswered goals. The Dingos were left scratching their heads, as what appeared to be a dominant first quarter had totally reversed, and they were now playing catch up. Tom Bell was trying hard in the Ruck and continued to be a strong force around the ground for the entire match.
The Wildcats weren’t finished there, and kicked 4 more goals in the third, to only 2 for the Dingos. Robbo, Geoff and Mick were running over the entire field, not wanting to let this game get away, but it wasn’t enough, as loose players along the wings and Half Back line for the Wildcats, racked up easy possessions and continually gave their forwards good looks at goal.
Mick and Bitch urged the boys on at three quarter time, hoping for an inspired effort, but the Wildcats weren’t to be outdone on this day, and continued to pour on the goals, with another 4 goal to 2 quarter.
Another loss for the Dingos, but they know that they are close, and with hard work they can get the desired results.
