The results of the Cook Islands Masters Athletics Champs that were held from Monday 24 to Wednesday 26th October are detailed below.
Cook Islands athletes welcomed 7 athletes from Auckland who joined them for three afternoons of friendly athletics competition. Best amongst the visitors was Tony Deleiros (M60) with a 13.2s 100m and 8.5s 60m.
The best performance from the Cook Islanders were in the throws with John Teiti (M50) getting the Javelin out to 30.50 and Tamarua Herman (M65) shot put 8.15m, Discus 28.62 and javelin 28.28.
There were a total of 17 new Cook Islands Best Performances with a couple of athletes who recently entered new age groups to the fore. David Lobb who has just moved to the M60 group setting six new marks and Terai Hill in the W60 also setting three new marks.
