Official Match Report

The Referee was inconsistent and bias in his ruling of the 6 second rule for GK kicks. He gave a free kick to Sorento 14 minutes into the first half for the GK taking 8 seconds to take the kick, resulting in a goal to Sorrento. While there is no issue with the rule it should be administered equally. the Sorrento GK consistently took longer than 6 seconds to dispose of the ball. The Referee did speak to the GK at the start but told him it was 10 seconds hence the confusion. This is U13 not senior football and the players should be taught in a continuous manner not by penalizing them for a rule after 1 warning that is relaxed even at professional level and applied in an inconsistent manner!

The Referee also allowed play to carry on twice after a clear trip in the penalty box. UWAN videoed the match and can provide evidence to that effect. The Coach questioning the decision received a yellow card and the Referee showed his arrogance towards players, parents and officials throughout the match. A very poor situation indeed.
