Falcon Rebels Basketball

Basketball doesn't build character it reveals it!

About Us!

Back in 1992, there was a team called "Falcons" playing U/10 basketball in Melton. They had white, maroon and blue as their team colours. The coach left and Helen Scott ended up coaching this team. Helen, to this day is an integral part of Falcon Rebels as our President, Coach and mentor to players.

After a very quick voteamongst the U/10 playersof the time, they decided they wanted to be more 'tough' and named the team Falcon Rebels. In 1993, the U/10 teamwon their first tournament premiership at the Moomba Coburg tournament. Their first domestic premiership was in 1994.

By 2000, there were 5 teams playing domestically in Melton. Our uniform colours remained the same but the uniform was redesigned (and it remains the same today). By 2011, there were 11 teams playing domestically in Melton. We also had a number of players representing Melton via the Squad/Rep program in Melton Basketball Association on Friday nights.

Now in 2015 we currently have 20 junior teams and continue to grow with three more teams to be added in our summer season.

Our dedicated coaching staff is a mixture of parents and coaches who continually develop their coaching techniques to foster and develop skills of all our players. There are over 115 children playing domestically for the Falcon Rebels Basketball Club.

As a club we continue to evolve by having our own smart phone app, Website, Facebook and Newsletter to communicate to all our players, parents, coaches and officials.
