SUPPORT THE UPGRADE OF OUR COMMUNITY FACILITIES!
Belgrave Football Netball Club, Belgrave Cricket Club and Belgrave Junior Football Club are at critical crossroads as our facilities struggle with overcrowding and outdated infrastructure.
Built in 1950, the Belgrave Recreation Reserve Pavilion is no longer fit for purpose, limiting community activities and failing to meet the needs of our growing population,
particularly with the exciting increase in women’s sports participation.
To address these urgent challenges, local Federal Member of Parliament Aaron Violi MP has launched a petition calling on the government and council to fund the much-needed upgrades.
These improvements are not just about sports; they will transform the pavilion into a modern hub for community connection, recreation, and safety, serving as an essential refuge during emergencies.
With strong backing from residents, families, and community organizations, this initiative seeks to unite our voices to advocate for Belgrave’s future.
By signing this petition, you can help us transform the Belgrave Recreation Reserve Pavilion into a modern, inclusive space that supports the diverse needs of our community and promotes growth, connection, and engagement for our future.
Join us in this effort to create a safe, vibrant hub that encourages community spirit and participation. Your support is invaluable.
Please sign the petition and help spread the word by sharing it with others.

We’re stoked to announce that Harley McDermott has recommitted as President of the Belgrave Football Netball Club for 2025.
Harley has been a part of the club since birth, growing up immersed in its culture and community.
He started playing in the U10s, playing on and off for Belgrave until his senior footy debut in 201, a journey that’s cemented his lifelong dedication to the club.
Over the years, Harley has contributed not just as a player but as a committed volunteer and leader.
From serving on the committee from 2020 to 2021, and coaching in 2023, he has now stepped into the role of President in 2024 and continues to lead the club with passion and vision.
Looking ahead, Harley is excited to build on the momentum of a fantastic 2024 season,
aiming to support the growth of the club and help more teams push to the next level.
A fun fact about Harley is that at just 15 years old he represented the Victorian Cricket School Boys Academy
on a tour of Sri Lanka in 2010, showcasing his sporting talents on an international stage.
Big thanks to Harley for his service to date and we thank him for going again in 2025.
We’re excited to announce a fresh face to our exec committee, with Jess Weisgerber taking on Secretary of the Belgrave Football Netball Club.
Jess may be new to the executive committee but definitely not to the club as she’s been part of it since she was a baby,
officially joining as a netball player in 2013 and taking up football in 2019.
She’s served on the social committee on and off since 2016 and is excited about the massive season ahead for both netball and footy.
With the addition of the Vets teams bringing new and familiar faces to the club, three new coaches for netball, and fresh coaching talent for women’s football,
it’s incredible to see the club growing.
Jess is also thrilled about the big, diverse committee this year, bringing a range of experiences to ensure great things happen both on and off the field and court in 2025.
A fun fact about Jess is that she once thought she’d set a record by swimming 2km in no time… until she realized 20 laps of a 50m pool didn’t quite add up.
Safe to say, she’s glad she’s not the treasurer.
A huge thank you to Jess for taking on this massive role for 2025
We’re also thrilled to announce another fresh face to the exec committee with Nathan Dawson taking on Treasurer of the Belgrave Football Netball Club for 2025.
Nathan has been a dedicated member of the club since 2020 and this will be his first year as an official committee member.
He’s excited to see all grades of footy and netball take the next step on the field and court this year.
With the club building something truly special, Nathan is optimistic about the opportunity to bring home several premierships.
He’s also looking forward to welcoming Vets teams and seeing both new and familiar faces around the club.
Fun fact about Nathan: when he was just four years old, he dressed up as the red Wiggle and even performed a song on stage with them during one of their concerts.
Huge thanks to Nathan for taking on this demanding role for 2025
2025 GENERAL COMMITTEE
We’re absolutely delighted to welcome our general committee for 2025.
This group brings a diverse range of experience and varying tenures within the club, making it a truly dynamic team.
We can’t wait to see the incredible contributions they’ll make in 2025—it’s going to be amazing.
