Jindalee Football and Netball Clubs Amalgamate

Jindalee Football and Netball Clubs Amalgamate to Strengthen Sport Participation in the Western Corridor

The individual boards of the Jindalee Jaguars and Jindalee Netball have made a momentous decision to amalgamate both clubs to form Jindalee Districts Australian Football & Netball Club.

Presidents, Corey Sells and Denise De La Rue both believe that the amalgamation is in the best interests of the individual clubs and will create an exciting new club to benefit all members. The combined entities will build on the individual strengths brought into the merger forming a sound base to generate future prosperity and growth.

Denise De La Rue said "The focus of the club is to have as many children and young adults playing sport as possible and with the combined efforts of both clubs, deliver over the coming years, the best possible facilities to support that growth".

With netball training on the Jindalee State School right next door to the football club it made sense to combine facilities and work together to build a home both clubs can be extremely proud of. While the new lighting project on the school oval is set to start early April and be completed in May, it's a great start delivering on that goal of outstanding facilities.

Jags AFC president Corey Sells said "The combined committee have an extremely strong focus on providing an environment that will attract as many of our communities youth as we possibly can. Sport and/or physical activity is essential to our kids wellbeing and we love that we can have an approach that will now offer two sports for kids to be involved in". He added, "We run a lot of off field education programs for our members and to have the opportunity to offer that to many more netball participants is very exciting".

The two clubs will start holding combined events and evenings together over the coming months starting with the season launch on March 24th. It will be a fantastic opportunity for families in the area to meet and create a whole new circle of freinds while celebrating the newly formed entity.
