New registrations will not be complete until the proof of age document has been provided and players are not permitted to play without complete registrations.

We are transitioning to an online gear store managed by the manufacturer, Tribal Sports.

We have some stock in hand, ready for purchase, until sold out. Please see David Pawsey at training or email the club at info@thegapdragons.com.au to organise an item to be brought to training. Payment is via card at training.

Once we have no stock (e.g. Training tops SOLD OUT)  members can order online and have it delivered to the club. It will then be brought to training/games for distribution. The prices are the same whether online or through the club.

The online store is at: https://www.tribalsport.com.au/product-category/sports/afl/the-gap-dragons/

Current restrictions do not allow items to be tried on so please consult the sizing chart (taken from the online store) and order the closest size.

See the 'Dragon's Gear 2020' pdf at the bottom of this page as a guide.

An email has also been sent out with the gear prices and size charts document. Please email the club if you would like it sent to you again or download it below.

Playing guernsey sizes are required for each player to determine the playing numbers for each player and teams. Sizes will be taken at each training session until June 27, where guernseys will be presented to each player. Make sure your players size is reported to the coaching staff. Use the size chart for 'Training Tops,' to find your size.

If you are 12 or older from January 1st, 2021 then consider being a club umpire for your Gap Dragons Junior Football Club!

We are keen to hear from anyone with an interest in becoming an umpire for the club, starting at FOOTY4FUN/AUSKICK level (Under 6.5) through to under 10.5.

It’s fun, so have a go! No costs are involved, and you receive payment from the Dragons for your time and effort. Learn crucial life skills involving decision making, assertiveness, leadership, effective communication and engagement and responsibility. You will make new friends and umpiring will make you a better player through cognitive and subconscious learning watching the game unfold from this unique perspective on the field.

We will teach you the rules of AFL and supply a uniform and whistle, so there is no requirement to have any prior knowledge or experience. We will equip you with all you need to know and ensure that you are adequately prepared with the knowledge to competently administer the duties of a field umpire.

All new umpires start off umpiring in tandem in Under 8’s with an experienced umpire under a tutor/buddy system so they actively learn and umpire from someone who has had a couple of years experience.

When FOOTY4FUN (Auskick age kids) starts later in the season new umpires will get their chance to umpire solo for all our budding beginner level footballers.

Game days are Saturday morning at the Dragon’s home ground (Hilder Street school) which means no long travel trips and go for less than an hour. Payments can be made via EFT to your bank account through the club if you wish (cash payments also OK).

To register as an umpire please use the following link:
register as an umpire

If interested contact me (Brent May) 0481 566 441 or honka5@hotmail.com – I am the Umpire Co-ordinator for both The Gap Dragons and Ferny Grove. I’m a qualified Youth and Foundation Coach (Blue Card accredited) having grown up in Western Victoria playing and umpiring the great game of AFL.

We’re also looking for an Umpire Co-Ordinator Assistant who would assist me this year and take over from next season to service both clubs as I’m planning on taking long service leave in the middle of next year (2022) which would mean I’d be able to assist the new Umpire Co-Ordinator at the start and end of the season but not the middle of the season.

You don’t have to had been an umpire previously as long as you have a good knowledge of the game and the rules, are patient, have good communication and management skills and can be there Saturday mornings to encourage and help develop their skills.

When players play their first game for The Gap Dragons they will receive one of our special Players Guernseys, emblazoned with our fearsome dragon. We wear it proundly each time we play.

At the end of the season, all players will also receive a trophy at our special Presentation Day.
