Wasn’t our best day at the office from an on field perspective. Our Under 19’s put in a brave effort against East Ringwood, our Reserves had a draw and after a pretty ordinary first quarter in the Seniors we couldn’t manage to stay in the game for long enough against an impressive Wantirna South. Pleased to say our Supporters observed the Covid restrictions so we can ALL get back to the footy sooner rather than later. DONT forget to check in later in the week to see ALL the action shots from our resident photographers Debbie Stingell and Graham Bradkte plus check out the website @ www.mitchamfc for the coach’s reports #proud2bmitcham
Under 19s Coach's Report
An unplanned 3 week mid season break was always going to make for some skill errors, lack of cohesion and teamwork. It however could not stop endeavour and a want to play the way we wanted.
To our boys credit they executed exactly as we had asked and albeit for some moments where the East Ringwood team showed why they are a top two team in our competition and our decision making or skill execution let us down we could have left East Ringwood with a well deserved win.

Reserves Coach's Report
After 3 weeks of not playing we were back and everyone was pretty happy and keen to get out there and play, heading to their deck is always a tough venture and history says just that, the grd has surface water but in general was ok although being quite slippery, contested footy all day was on the cards. We started well with the 1st qtr going our way, they picked up clearly in the 2nd and had the better of the footy however we held on to go into the half time break leading by 4 pts. The 3rd belonged to Wantirna Sth as they kicked a couple in a low scoring day to lead by 2 pts at 3 qtr time, their on ballers got on top and we were under the pump down back. The last saw us respond as good sides do as we won the centre clearances and dominated the play with possession, however the flooded numbers back and it turned into a dog fight, we had our chances kicking 2 pts and a couple out on the full and when the siren went it was even. Really proud of our ability to fight back in the last qtr, 2 pts from this games means we are entrenched in the top 3 by 2.5 games, we head to Montrose this week so we keep learning and improving all the time, it will be good to see the everyone next week.

Senior Coachs Report
It was great to finally get back into some footy this weekend, it was always going to be unusual with a short preparation and minimal crowd so it was going to be vital to get off to a good start. Unfortunately we were unable to do so and Wantirna Sth to their credit came out of the blocks really fast. They were much more desperate around the footy, they worked harder and punished our poor skill level to open up a 32 point ¼ time lead. We were able to get ourselves back into the contest with much better application during the 2nd and 3rd quarters but we were never able to get close enough to put enough scoreboard pressure on them. In the end our poor start cost us any chance of victory as we went down by 39 points. Jake Parente was the shining light up forward booting 6 goals for the day. Hopefully next week we can get some crowds back at the game and we can see the tiger army out in force as we play Montrose away.
