Disappointing results on field for the Tigers this week as ALL 3 teams went down against Bayswater and the netball girls got knocked over by Heathmont Friday night as well. Good news is the netball girls have made it through to the finals; Keep an eye out on our face book page for venue and time. In better news for the Club The MND Ladies lunch was a huge success with 250 ladies enjoying a great day with a very serious message delivered by the inspirational Neale Daniher. It was a team effort by the club as we hosted our largest ever match day function on the netball court.
BIG THANK YOU to Phil Hine from Hine Hire who helped make this event happen with his very generous support in supplying the Marquee, tables and chairs to accommodate such a large number of guests. Thanks also to Graham Bradtke for the magnificent photos, you can check out the entire photo album @mitchamfootballclub
Please save the dates for the major draw Saturday 18th August and Presentation night Thursday night 27th September... Head to our official MFC face book page @mitchamfootballclub and Official Website www.mitchamfc.com for all these stories and more #strongandbold #fightMND
Under 19s Coaches Report
With so much on the line our 1st half in windy conditions did not reflect what was at stake and we found ourselves 28 points down at half time. After some serious appraisal of the situation the boys set about getting back into the contest which we did closing it to a point a 3/4 time. However Bayswater had that strong wind at their back in the last as we fought hard to try and gain the lead until with minutes to go they put the result to bed. The good news is the results all went our way so finals are still in our hands but it is time to appreciate the opportunity

Reserves Coaches Report
Conditions were a challenge this week with a strong wind to one end about 5 goals, after a great win last week coming up against Bayswater who had won 7 in a row and accounted for the top side by 50 pts last week was a tough test. Kicking against the wind we got off to a ordinary start 6 goals to zip, there pressure was good and our skills and composure let us down. The 2nd was better as we kicked a couple and missed a few which saw us at halftime down by 4 goals. We held them well for most of 3rd as they had the wind however decision making cost us and they kicked 3 late goals to take a 50 pt lead into the main break, the last was even as we toiled but I was pleased we fought it out with a much better 2nd half. Must play 4 qtrs at this level and the 1st cost us dearly. Tom Blanche was super on the wing with his run all day, Tezza was solid on the ball and Mikey, Zach Elms and in our best. Mulgrave next week away will not be easy so our boys will have to find the way to play 4 solid qtrs., thanks to all that came down.

Senior Coaches Report
This week we hosted Bayswater on a windy Saturday afternoon. With the aid of the breeze in the first quarter we didn’t take full toll wasting some opportunities and allowing Bayswater too many uncontested marks. We went to the first break with a narrow 5-point lead. In the 2nd quarter we played our most disappointing quarter of footy for the season, poor turnovers and horrible decision making allowed Bayswater to get their tails up and go into the main break with a commanding 51-point lead.
The 3rd quarter was much better as we moved the ball quickly and lifted our defensive pressure, unfortunately we conceded 2 late cheap goals undoing some of our good work as we pegged the margin back to 43 points. The last quarter effort was ok, but we allowed too many easy goals and the final margin stretched out to 79 points. Will Gordon was fantastic in the ruck all day giving us first usage and Jackson Glossop was great across half back giving us some good drive out of defence.
Thanks to everyone who attended the ladies’ day function and help raise money for a wonderful cause.
