Disappointing day at the office for the Tigers this week as both the Seniors and Reserves went down to Lilydale. 1st XVIII didn’t take advantage of the breeze early and were out worked by a slick Lilydale outfit going down by 50 points. Parente was again solid down forward booting 4 with Rudd, McKeown, and Ryan all named in the best 2nd XVIII lost a close one in the dying stages by 7 points with Joseph and Story in the best and a number of young fellas pushing their claim for senior selection.
NEXT WEEK A must win game for the Tigers as nothing short of our best will get the job done against the Mulgrave boys, then after a quick drink with the Mully lads its back to Mitcham for our comedy night with Hughesy and Lehmo. Doors open at 6.30 pm for a 7.00 pm sharp start. Working bee at the St Johns hall after 7.30 on Friday night to set up, lots to do and many hands make light work

Reserves Coaches Report
An opportunity we let through our grasp against a very solid side going down by 7 points, our boys were not at their best all day as we made simple / basic mistakes that Lilydale jumped on and made us pay. As expected I couldn’t question our endeavour or effort the boys fought it out to the end however we really hurt ourselves with some poor decision making and ill-discipline at crucial times, we will learn from this though and take it into the rest of the year starting this week against Mulgrave. Couldn’t be happier than to give an award to Ethan for his game on Saturday his ruck work and 2nd efforts were terrific, Fincy also was great taking some solid marks across half forward and Jack Taylor at full back crashed packs all day and used the ball well out of defence. One that we’re not happy about and I’m expecting a ferocious 24 Tigers to come out this week! Thanks for the supporters who cheered us on once again.

Senior Coaches Report
This week we were back at home against the young Lilydale outfit, we knew what they brought to the table which was speed and enthusiasm our challenge was to match them in these areas and keep the game on our terms and try to limit their outside speed. We showed at times throughout the day that we are more than capable of doing this, when we stuck to structures and our concentration levels were where they needed to be we caused some headaches for them. Unfortunately as has been the case the last couple of weeks we couldn't sustain these efforts and found ourselves falling back into bad habits, undisciplined and selfish play started to rear its ugly head and went into self preservation mode worrying about what was best for ourselves instead of what was best for the team. Credit to Lilydale who played a good team orientated brand of footy for 4 quarters and won comfortably in the end. Lockie Ryan continued his good start to the season battling hard all day and Lachlan Rudd stood tall in defense. This week we have a must win game against Mulgrave, we have learnt some valuable lessons the last 2 weeks, it's time we put these in to practice this week and together produce a good 4 quarter team performance. Thanks to all our supporters who came out in force as usual, we promise that next time you come out to watch it will be a much better performance
