Good day for the 1st XVIII with a hard fought 21 point victory over Croydon. Just as the senior game started heavy rain fell making conditions slippery as ball handing become very tricky. The good news was the ground surface held up a treat and a 3rd quarter blitz by Mitcham 3.6 to Croydon’s 2 points set the game up for the tigers. Ryan, McCubbin, Gordon, Julz Petracca, Handley and Winterton were all named in the best with Parente and Chris Hoegel both booting 3 majors. Congratulations to Ben Joseph on his senior debut this week making it 4 players 19 or under in our senior side now
2nd XVIII wasn’t as lucky going down by 25 points, pleasing part was the tigers were under the pump early but battled hard to outscore the blues in the second half. Blanche, McKeown, Sullivan, Glanville, Haralambopoulos, and Tsolos were all named in the best and Glanville booted two goals. Congratulations to Russell White on his 300th game last week, Russ is a ripping fella having played the bulk of his footy in western Australia and his a great mentor for our Young twos side. It's a pleasure to have Russ at our club and wearing the Tigers jumper. Not only does he pass on his experience to his younger team mates but he passes on his values as a person both on and off the field...honesty, passion and respect!
Reserves Coaches Report
A big challenge on the weekend facing the undefeated Croydon who have easily accounted for their opposition this year so far, unfortunately we couldn't match it with them for 4 qtrs and they ran out winners by 4 goals. We started well kicking into a stiff breeze with 1 goal to 2 at qtr time and really showing great pressure and intensity at the contest, the 2nd qtr was very disappointing for us kicking with the breeze, Croydon lifted their work rate across the ground and clearly showed us that if we drop off in this area class sides will make us pay, and they did kicking 4 goals to 1 into the wind. Third qtr was better as we did respond with more work rate and and smarter use of the footy, in the last we played well also to win the second half by 5 pts, however consistency across 4 qtrs cost us in the end, a valuable lesson for our young group. Tom Blanche was outstanding with his work rate and run clearly our best, Bluey and Tsolos were hard at it all day, Sully was great at CHB and on the ball in the second half. This leaves us 3 wins 1 loss after 4 rounds and we are happy about that, lots to work on to improve. Big thank you to our supporters again you were fantastic as always.

Senior Coaches Report
This week we played our 2nd home game for the season against Croydon. We knew they would be desperate for a win as a loss would see them slip to 1-3. The rain arrived right on queue 5 minutes before the first bounce making it a scrappy affair in the first half, both sides played good hard football making it difficult to find any space and hit scoreboard. In the 2nd half it dried out a bit and we were able to play a better brand of footy, using the ball better and getting the game on our terms, pleasingly our defensive pressure also lifted and we were able to open up a 4 goal margin heading into the last quarter. The last quarter we slowed the game down and made it difficult for Croydon to score and run out with a comfortable 21 point margin. Lockie Ryan continues his stellar start to the season and Will Gordon was dominant in the ruck with 41 hitouts. Thanks to all our supporters for coming out in trying conditions, we have the week off this week and then head out to Doncaster East for what will be a tough encounter, we hope to see you all out there to cheer us on.
