With the Seniors and Reserves having the week off all eyes turned to the Under 19’s who played Templestowe in the Elimination final out at Central Reserve Glen Waverley Sunday. The weekend started off with a bang with the Juniors putting on a ripping show at their Presentation night, amazing really how BIG how Junior Club has grown and how well they are run, Something that was rubber stamped by the EFL last year when they won best conducted Junior Club.
Saturday we had an excellent turn out of volunteers across the board as we hosted Division 4 finals, Then on Sunday the Tiger faithful gathered to cheer on the under 19s to a strong win as they came over the top of Templestowe to the tune of 52 points, Then to round out the weekend we again hosted Division 4 finals on Sunday. BIG THANK you to all who assisted / supported over the weekend, great people make great clubs and we have a lot of great people.

Under 19s Coaches Report
It is the time of the year that can’t come quick enough for anyone thats involved in footy. We had the challenge of playing Templestowe in both Round 18 and then the elimination final, a match that the two sides have played off in for the last two years. We knew getting off to a good start in a cut throat final would be critical and the boys attack on the footy was fantastic right from the start. Having Mitch Holzheimer and Tom Lucas back in the side game us the ability to get back to our preferred structures and having two of your better players back in is always a bonus at this time of the year. The boys were dominant in the first half but failed to show their hard work on the scoreboard. At half time we led by 18 points but it was the third quarter that set the tone for the second half. Our tackle count continued to climb and we got back to playing a physical brand of footy, something we had lacked in the second half of the season. Tom Blanche was dominant off the half back line giving us plenty of drive through the middle of what was a big ground while Nathan Foster couldn’t put a foot wrong deep in the backline. Young gun Lachie George showed he is capable of playing with the big boys in what was his best game of the season so far. Our new look forward line continued to work well with our big boys continuing to contest hard up high leaving Adam Glanville to do his best work in front of goals. Although he didn’t have his kicking boots on, he showed how ‘dangerous’ he can be when the ball is delivered to his advantage. A 10 goal win in our first final was fantastic but our attention quickly turns to what will be a very tough assignment on Sunday as we prepare to take on Upper FTG in another do or die match. I just want to thank our Senior players and our loyal supporters for turning up on Sunday in full voice. Your support throughout the season has been terrific and we hope that will continue this Sunday. Good luck to the Senior and Reserves on Saturday in what will be a huge day for our footy club. We will definitely be there to cheer you through the to Grand Final.
