Due to the quirkiness of the under 19 draw Round 11 of EFL footy had the 19s playing Park Orchards for the second time in 3 weeks at home while the Reserves and Seniors headed down the road to HE Parker to take on The Heathmont Jets
Under grey skies the under 19s couldn’t repeat their heroics of a few weeks ago when they inflicted The Sharks first defeat of the year and went down by 34 points. The Reserves defence was right on top keeping Heathmont goal less as they booted 12 to run out easy winners while the seniors continued on their merry way Winning by 77 points Next week’s game shapes as a big clash at home as Templestowe appear to have again found their mojo and with NO love lost between the two teams should be a ripping contest.
Next week also represents a great opportunity for the Tiger Army to turn out in large numbers and support the club with the Mitcham Past Players and Officials Reunion of 1970 senior, 1975 Senior and Under 17, 1995/1996 Back to Back Veterans Premiership Teams. Plus we also have the president’s lunch. Historically this Event has been a great day and showcases our Club and sponsors to the greater football community and City of Whitehorse. Kicks off at 11.55am and continues through to the beginning of the senior game. At just $50 per head for a two course lunch, with beer wine and soft drink included represents excellent value plus we have 6 Time AFL Grand final umpire Darren Goldspink along with Current Melbourne Player and number 2 draft pick Christian Petracca speaking and the very funny Chris Bennet supplying the laughs. Should be a ripping afternoon and with only a few tickets left please Contact Matt McCubbin on 0414 438 616 For Ticket Bookings #neverbeenabettertimetobeatiger

Under 19s Coaches Report
The under 19's this week had their return fixture against top of the table Park Orchards. After an impressive first quarter of pressure we held a slender lead. After half time Park Orchards took control of the stoppages and were able to get their running game going. Maintaining pressure on the ball was the key message after half time and to the boys credit they responded winning the quarter however a indiscipline cost us an easy shot at goal. The final quarter saw Park Orchards fitness take over and an eventual 30 point loss. The take away from the match is our need to play consistently for 4 quarters. Losing concentration at key moments and poor kicking proved costly in the end and the boys will work hard on the track over the bye weekend ready to tackle our next opponent.

Reserves Coaches Report
This week saw us put in our best team footy performance of the year to win comfortably by 100 points against an opponent that 2 weeks ago knocked off a side in the 5 by 3 goals. Our hard work on using the corridor, lowering the eyes and hitting up the short was the difference as this allows us to run with purpose and break their lines. We dominated around the ground with our on ballers getting first use from our rucks, Toddy & Morgan were terrific all day as a combination, Toddy continues his form with another outstanding effort. First game for the club Parksy is a real find for us kicking 5 for the day, Aaron Menzies was in our best coming off half back with his skills again being first class whilst Tyler, Beag’s, Lloydy, Finchy, Marc Parente were all big contributors on the day. We have a huge game this week against Tempy who are on the same wins as us, we played them in round 2 going down by 6 points s our focus and attitude must be spot on, still plenty to work on as always so training is critical for everyone. Thanks to all our supporters that travelled to Heathmont you were awesome again, massive week for the club, can’t wait

Senior Coaches Report
This week we traveled out to Heathmont to take on a young hungry side. We were very disappointed in our performance last week so we were keen to make amends. We controlled the play in the first quarter and skipped out to a 24 point lead. The second quarter was very scrappy and we wasted a lot of ball going forward, both sides failed to kick a major. After talking about using better options at half time we came out and broke the game right open with our run and spread and ability to hit targets going forward, we kicked 7.4 to 1.1 for the quarter. The last quarter had us faced with the same challenge as the previous week holding a comfortable lead, we were determined to not repeat the same mistakes again. We continued to run and spread hard and use the ball well going forward to run out victors by 77 points. Rob Petracca was fantastic again and Lachlan Rudd played his best senior game of footy giving us plenty of dash on a wing. Overall it was good to see us get back on track after last weeks effort. This week we face a tough task against the inform Templestowe, we hope to see all our supporters down at the game to help us get across the line
