Round 7 had the Tiger train travelling just two stations to take on Ringwood for the Pimm Cup at Ringwood. Unfortunately after winning the under 19 premiership last year Ringwood couldn’t field a team this year meaning our under 19s had a bye. The Reserves missed the early train to Ringwood and at one stage found them self’s six goals down before a second half revival to run over the top of The Redbacks by 14 points. On the other hand the Seniors got the early train and held Ringwood goal less in the first half before cruising over the line in the second half
Next weeks footy returns home as the footy hots up with Mitcham’s 1000 game against the only other undefeated team in the seniors - The Basin.
Should be a cracker of a game and one would expect to see the tiger army out in force
Reserves:
Important day for the Club playing for the Pimm Shield and we were up against a side who have won 5 on the trot sitting 2nd on the ladder, our 1st quarter wasn’t great for us as Ringwood jumped out to a 4 goal lead, their run of half back and use of the footy was too good for us as our boys looked lost on the big ground. Although we were down by 4 goals there were signs that when we got into our game plan we looked to have more run than them and our spread across the ground had them looking slow. The 2nd quarter was much better however we went into the long break still 24 points down, our enthusiasm was up as we could sense that our run was troubling them, we came out and kept them goalless and kicked 3 ourselves to get within a goal at 3 quarter time. The last quarter was very pleasing our pressure, run and use of the footy was too much for them and we kicked 4 goals to eventually win by 14 points. Our best was Ruddy who was outstanding off half back with run and carry, Quonny kicked 5 and was too good one out and really enjoyed the space we gave him, Dylan Wilde and first year out of 19’s Yardsey were terrific all day and big Toddy in the ruck dominated the hit outs. Still plenty to work on though, it was a deserving win and one that can really bond a group with the confidence that our game is good enough against anyone. This week against the Basin is our opportunity to go into the break 5 and 3, thank you to all our supporters we appreciate you being there and well done to the Seniors, great footy on the weekend lad’s.

Seniors:
Round 7 was a big day for the club given that we were playing for the Pimm shield, we were keen to make sure we got the 4 points for Pimmy given that he unfortunately couldn't be out there. We started well bringing a tackling intensity and attack on the footy that allowed us to get our running game going. Our ball usage all around the ground was fantastic and we were able to hit the scoreboard and kick 10 goals to none in the first half. We had a real focus on the third quarter but unfortunately started slowly conceding the first 3 goals before we got back on track. The last quarter was pretty scrappy with both sides succumbing to the big deck and sunny conditions. Julian Petracca led from the front all day and Jackson Glossop provided plenty of rebound out of defence. This week brings a huge challenge with us coming up against the unbeaten Basin side, in what should be a huge day for the club with the 1000 game celebrations. We look forward to seeing everyone down there for our first home game in 2 weeks.
