NETBALL
A GRADE
The A team had another good win, we were confident that this time around against Yarra Glen we could achieve a win if we played to the standard we know we can.
The first half was tight, going goal for goal, but Olinda took the game away in the last half with a convincing win of 19 goals. It was achieved by all players concentrating on their positioning and disposal of the ball, the attacking combination is now working brilliantly together, with fast leads and slick passes. Lucy Allman shot 27 goals and Brooke Northey 21, together with Sam, Nat & Bec in centre court they are hard to stop, The defence of Cassie Fiona & Elle was tight and Yarra Glen found it really hard to get the ball into their shooters. Fiona Mc Nair put in a particulary solid game in GK .
It is fantastic to see this team really clicking together now and the results they are now getting are well deserved. It was a fantastic game as the curtain raiser to our official court opening, which Sport & Recreation Minister James Merlino officially opened. at the conclusion to the game. Well done team !
B GRADE
It was a great effort by the girls today, up against a very strong team, Yarra Glen being second on the ladder!
With Mary and Georgia Taylor our experienced goalers out made it hard for the girls to get the ball into the ring and with a lack of consistent intensity by all the girls made it hard for us to get into the game. Yarra Glen were just unstoppable all the way through the court!
It was a great performance by Elise in the goal ring using her height and strength to an advantage and once again a great effort by Bernie by picking off some great intercepts throughout the whole match.
A fantastic effort by our newest recruits Lauren in the attack area and Karen up in the attack and defence end. Although we lost we are definately improving and coming together as a team. Next weeks match against Powelltown will be another tough match for the girls and hopefully the girls can come close a win.

RESERVES
The Reserve side handed out a 109 drubbing of ladder leader Yarra Glen by holding them to a miserly 3 goals last Saturday. The opposition seemed quite stunned by the way Olinda dominated play throughout all four quarters & left the ground with slumped shoulders.
It was difficult to single out best players as everyone made significant contributions on the day. However specials mentions should be made about Christian Skudutis’ resilience under fire, Simon Leone, who probably had ‘ leather poisoning’ that night, Andy Greenall for his mighty 10 goals & Owen Raskiewicz whose non stop running was inspirational.
It was also good to welcome back Rod ‘Rocket’ McKenzie who certainly made his presence felt throughout the contest.
SENIORS
Another excellent win for the seniors against a more spirited and harder running Yarra Glen side than the one we faced in round 2.
A fantastic first qtr in which we scored 11 goals to 2 goals put the game out of reach nice and early.
To Yarra Glens credit they come out hard in the 2nd qtr and outscored us by a goal. This inspired the boys to put the foot down and with Scott Tregoning making his coaching debut taking the leaders role and dominating along with Patty Rosier, Nick Broomhall and Sean Grogan, Yarra Glen were unable to cope with such talented players. Blake Walter was marking everything that came his way and Glenn Stevens doing the same.
Olinda eventual winners by 116 points and best players were the above mentioned. Also a massive team effort and graet to see that 2 more under 18's getting senior games and showing why they are being picked in Josh Wallace and Tom Dawson who looked liked a 100 game player on the back flank.
