Hi to everyone out there,
I have some bits and pieces to fill you in on quickly.
Firstly, and briefly, congratulations to everyone involved in last Wednesdays phone book drop. An absolutely outstanding night and brilliantly attended. We will go into more detail in the next Bloodlines edition, but well done to Helen Wositzky in coordinating, and to Ben Selby for helping with the logistics. Just a magnificent effort !
The OFCFNC is looking for any qualified people to umpire our B and A grade netball teams each week. We are also looking for people to be team managers for C, B or A grade netball teams. If you are interested or know of anyone who might be interested please contact Becky Scott on 0425 706 924.
The attached picture shows OFC identity and Life Member Kevin Dowsey, proudly modelling one of our Season 2011 jackets. These jackets are water resistant with an artificial fur "high collar" and zip front. They also boast external and internal pockets and are light enough to wear on a mild day with a polo top underneath, or warm enough to wear on a cold July day with a windcheater . Kev has asked me to make it clear he would have shaved if he had been given more prior warning of the photo shoot. We are selling the jackets for $60 and orders can be placed through Rick Wall (email) socky258@hotmail.com
Finally, I'd like to congratulate Mark Stevens and Katherine Vandenberg on the safe arrival last week of a little baby girl, Charli Louise Stevens. She weighed in at a solid 8p 1oz at The Angliss and mum and bub are doing extremely well. Charli will be a cousin to Sophie (Daniels daughter) and its fair to say, time to get busy Glenn !!! Well done and congratulations to the Stevens family, wonderful news !
We also had some OFC players take part in a leadership course on Sunday 27th Feb. Organised by Bruce "Popeye" Lowery, and ficilitated by the very brilliant Shane Mahar, our guys/girls were no doubt tested by Shane's very engaging workshop and will come away from it far better for the experience. Many thanks to Peter Hayne and Resource Ed Personnel for sponsoring the day. Again, we will have some more in-depth analysis on this in our next edition of Bloodlines.
Training is progressing well, our first practice matches have been arranged for March 20th vs Seville. Please keep an eye on the website as we get closer to the season commencing (www.ofcfc.vcfl.com.au )
