We might not have any football or netball being played this year but there is still a lot happening around the club! Since the cancellation of the 2020 season, the Committee has taken the opportunity to jump on zoom and share fundraising ideas and start our planning for the 2021 season.
The new clubrooms at MacPherson Park have sat vacant this season, and we look forward to the time when we are able to start the cleanout of the old rooms and set up the new rooms ahead of the 2021 season. We look forward to the smell of liniment and the echo of our team song filling the rooms again as part of our Saturday ritual next season. There are some photos taken of the new rooms from the outside up on our website.
2021 Netball Coaches
We are looking for netball coaches for all Grades of netball in 2021. Applications for coaching positions close tomorrow (Friday 21 August). Applicants must have WWC and have successfully completed the foundation coaching course. Applications or enquiries to be sent via email to:

Senior Football Coaching Announcement
For those who haven't seen the news, Aaron Tymms has been re-appointed as our senior football coach for the 2021 season. Tymmsy took over the senior coaching role in 2018, and took us deep into finals in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons. It's great to have Tymmsy back on board, as well as many of our senior players who have already signed up. We'll have daily player re-signing announcements starting on our social media in the coming weeks.
Lockdown Draw
Tickets sold out quickly for the Lockdown 2.0 draw. If you are the lucky owner of a number between 1 and 100, tune in for the live draw via Facebook at 7pm on a Saturday night throughout the next month to see if you win.
Punters Club
Hursty and Jacko are running our Punters Club every Saturday. Entry is $20 a week, you tip one horse in each race at the main Melbourne meeting, the value of your horses win and place dividends are added up and the person with the highest return at the end of the day wins the prize. As we move into the Spring Carnival this is a great way to follow the races on a Saturday afternoon. The prizes are based on the number of entries, but first prize has been around $600 for the last few weeks so it's well worth joining in. There's a prize for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and a bottle of red for whoever finishes last. There is a Facebook Group called 'Melton Bloods Punting Competition' where you can also find out more information, or contact Hursty, Jacko or Greg if you have any questions.

TAC Survey
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is completing a key piece of research that will inform the work in promoting road safety in Victoria moving forward, and with your help we might be able to land $1,000 worth of new gear for the 2021 season for the club.
The survey is being conducted by EY Sweeney on behalf of the TAC and AFL Victoria. It should take you no more than ten minutes to complete.
This survey is available until midnight Friday 11th September.
Bloods Face Masks
Face masks have been sent out over the past week for those who ordered and paid.
Sponsors
Like all clubs, we couldn't operate without the support of our valued sponsors. Cafe Kebab, Schnitz Woodgrove, Hotondo Homes Melton, Dawson's Australia Pest Control, and Bertocchi are our major partners this year and we thank them for being on board with the Bloods. As always, we encourage our members to support our sponsors.
Social Media
We're aiming to add daily content to our Facebook page during lockdown. If you haven't 'liked' us on Facebook yet, please do so. In the past week we've put up some highlights from the Juniors U16 Grand Final in 2014, an interview with our Vice President Brian McNabb and our lockdown edition of Mark and Goal of the Week.
That's all for this edition of Bloods Banter - please stay safe and we look forward to all being back together soon!
GO BLOODS!!!
