Jack Ross has been selected in and appointed captain of the Vic Metro squad for the forthcoming 2016 NAB AFL Under 16 Championships. He was presented with his Vic Metro jumper and announced as Captain after completion of the final trial games over the Queen’s Birthday weekend.
Jack has been with the Waverley Park Hawks since 2008 when he started as an Under 9 and currently plays in the Under 16 Div 1 (Gold) team (when school and representative football commitments allow!)
This is the first time that the Waverley Park Hawks has had the captain of an AFL Championships representative team at any level. Everyone at the club congratulates Jack on his achievement and wish him well in the championships as well as his future football endeavours. We hope he enjoys the experience of leading the Under 16 Vic Metro team.
The AFL Under 16 Championships commence this Sunday for Vic Metro with a game against Vic Country at Simonds Stadium and conclude with games against South Australia and Western Australia on the Gold Coast in early July (see http://www.afl.com.au/draft/u16s for schedule)
