Sam Deegan joins our coaching ranks for the first time as coach of the Under 15 Gold side. Sam has a passion for sports, especially football and is excited to challenge himself in the coaching role but also to help teach and improve the players.
Sam has previously played 9 seasons (154 games) at the Waverley Park Hawks from Under 9 to Under 17 including 1 premiership and a year as captain. He then went onto Mazenod Old Collegians where he currently plays and was vice captain of the Under 18 Premiership side.
Sam now looks forward to bringing all that experience to the main coaching role at U15 level where he sees his job to develop the players with their skills and confidence in a team orientated environment. Sam will bring a fresh approach to the team and will look to implement a fast paced, attacking game plan whilst incorporating an enjoyable and fun environment. Sam looks forward to working with the players and parents in making 2016 a great season.
Simon Stone will continue this year as assistant coachand with his previous knowledge and experience of this side, will be a valuable asset for Sam to call on if needed. Simon has a great rapport with the players and will help Sam build into this coaching role.
We believe this is an exciting appointment for the club as well as the Under 15 players and we wish Sam all the best!
