2020 Junior Winter Trials - HEALTH UPDATE
The GFBC was due to host basketball trials for the upcoming 2020 Junior Winter season this week (23-26 March 2020).
Last week the club had put in place some precautionary measures for the trials and participant numbers were going to be minimised to allow for new players only.
However due to the rapildy evolving health pandemic of the COVID-19 virus, the club has made a decision to cancel these trials to remain in line with the health advice from the Government, Basketball Australia and Basketball ACT regarding social distancing.
The club values its community members and believes that it is in the best interest of the community to not host any events that would result in mass gatherings of people, and in turn aid in reducing the spread of this virus.
Where to from here?
Basketball ACT has advised clubs to plan for the 2020 Winter season as scheduled, with a possible start date pushed back to mid-May.
The club will still be required to nominate teams by the 13th of April 2020. To do this we need an indication of who is interested in playing.
Parents will be asked to register online as per usual via the link below, however no payments will be required at this stage.
