Round 7 Wrap up
Under 7s Another fun night for the little ones, with a switch to this week's games, Hawks G vs Swans and Hawks B vs Bulldogs. The kids continue to have a great time and, best of all, run each other ragged.
Coach's reports from the weekend:- Under 9s - from Coach Cam The U9s travelled to Tony Ireland stadium on Saturday to take on the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs team was a much bigger outfit and quite physical but the Hawkies boys soon warmed up to the battle and really got stuck in. It was a more physical contest than usual but this seemed to fire up the young Hawkies and they battled hard all day and let the Bulldogs know they had been in a game of footy! There were great efforts all over the park with Jackson at the bottom of every pack, Noah showing some great run out of the middle, and some good marks with Luke gaining in confidence each week and using his big frame to clear out the packs and dishing off great handballs to the run of Isaak, Adrian and Angus.
Under 11s No coaches report this week, but I understand the U11s had a good game against the Swans after a few logistical dramas finding a place to play! One of the boys did reliably inform me that they had a win!
Under 13s - from Coach Ben Great work by the under 13's. Awesome to have a full team and many thanks to Shalom College for their support with players. The Under 13 Hawks did it again on the weekend, coming from 2 goals down with about 5 minutes left on the clock to grab the win. Still looking for any parents willing to help out. I understand not everybody can but if you can help with goal umpiring, running water, washing the mighty brown and gold jerseys or anything at all please let me know - 0402110252. We have a bye this week then take on the Bombers at home before the school holidays start. Go Hawks!!
Under 15s - from Coach Mark SuperCoach Jason was at the helm again this week and guided the under 15's to another great win. Unfortunately due to work I was unable to be there but was told Leslie had a great game and so did Javarn. Tom Aumend provided one of the best tackles of the year and Kade took a great grab at centre half forward. Next week we should welcome back a few players including Gise and Johno from his concussion and really show this competition what a force these young men are. Very proud of this team who represent what this great club is about. Go Hawks!
