The season is upon us and new senior coach Glenn Garner has wasted no time in getting the boys ready for the test, with plenty of hard work done during the hot summer. The attitude of the players and their eagerness to embrace the new game plan has been exceptional
Garner is an accredited Level 3 High Performance Coach with 17 years experience at senior level.

Teammates’ great donation
A LEONGATHA Parrots’ Under 18s footballer has donated a car which he received as a prize to his teammate.
Brendan Tomada was awarded the keys to the Holden Commodore at the club’s presentation night on Friday but he passed them over to teammate Broderic Mead-Ameri.

Back to Back for Parrots B Grade
In a stunning upset, The Leongatha B grade girls broke the undefeated season of Morwell in the game that mattered most. In a convincing display, the Parrots were successful by 14 goals. In the A grade, our girls battled valiantly and just fell short of an undefeated Sale side by just two goals.

Two seriously solid performances from the A and B grade netball teams in the preliminary final has booked them shots and back to back premierships.

Valiant effort in vain a fair snapshot of Season
With nothing to play for, Leongatha travelled to Traralgon who had to win to keep their hopes of a double chance alive. The maroons jumped out of the blocks to a three goal lead and kept the parrots at that distance for most of the day, to then finally kick away in the last to record a five goal win.

Thumping win a precursor to an Inspiring night
It would be fair to assess that Saturday was the highlight in a somewhat disappointing season at Leongatha for more ways than one. A huge win by the senior side by 130 points against Moe, followed by a heart stopping win by the under 16's under lights against the higher ranked lions, and finally the shave for Banga night where the club raised over $10,000 for the Cancer Council.

Slim Finals Chance Blown Away
Leongatha had the opportunity to send a scare through the competition by continuing their winning run against second placed Morwell on Saturday. They encountered a very different opponent who outclassed the parrots all day to hand them an 89 point thrashing.

In a performance we thought we would expect when gazing forward from the start of the season, Leongatha have began to play a brand of football that would have them primed for finals. That is, if they had won enough games earlier in the season to make the finals.

Nice First up Showing against EFL Div 1 team
Leongatha travelled to Beaconsfield to play Scoresby in their first hit-out of season 2013. The Parrots led for the whole match and eased up at the line 26 point winners.
