Round 16
Coleraine Vs Heathmere
Shock.....Horror....another wet day at Heathmere !!
With just two games after this one for everyone, Coleraine really needed to perform well and bring home some wins for our finals chances.
Seniors
A very tough and tight first three quarters opened up for the Maroons with 6 goals in the last quarter to break away for a 64 point win.
A win against Tyrendarra will make sure we have top spot come finals time.
Reserves
Like the Seniors, the Reserves had a tough fight in the first half before dominating the 3rd quarter to break the game apart.
The Maroons win by 41 points was enough to make sure that the Reserves can't lose second spot, but with top placed Tyrendarra and 3rd placed Westerns for the last two games, they'll get an idea of their hardest opponents leading into the finals.
A-Grade
Heathmere are one of the big favourites for the A-Grade flag and our girls, who weren't at full strength found the going pretty tough.
On paper an 18 goal loss looks pretty bad, but Coleraine worked hard and will surely make a real contest of their next clash, when hopefully we'll have everyone available.
B-Grade
With all of senior netball down on numbers, it gets harder as you go down the grades and the girls went down by 13 goals today.
B-Grade, thanks to a Sandford loss are still a mathematical hope of playing finals, but they need all hands on deck for the last two upcoming games.
C-Grade
C-Grade are just trying to keep improving week by week and with a skeleton crew only, copped a bit of a hiding against the strong Heathmere team.
Under 17's
The Under 17's worked hard to get the win today, but considering that many of the girls had to play two games to help out the senior grades, they did extremely well to win by 6 goals.
Under 15's
After performing a well deserved victory dance last week, our U/15's ran into a very hot reception from Heathmere and unfortunately we couldn't get the points today.
Under 13's
1st Vs 2nd and with it all on the line and with revenge stirring cold in the hearts of the Mighty Mini-Maroons after two previous losses to Heathmere by 3 goals, the stage was set.
Coleraine were magnificent and proved to themselves that they are in the Premiership fight up to their necks with a dominant 20 goal win.
Awesome effort girls, keep it up !!
Our final home game for 2010 is on next week against arch rivals Tyrendarra, after which the finals picture will be much clearer.
