Round 11
Coleraine Vs Westerns
On a morning where 15 wheelbarrow loads of ice were scraped off the covers before the start of the days activities, the day could be described as a little brisk !!
The Past Players and Supporters Group were in attendance to watch the Grand Final replay against Westerns and we hope they enjoyed their afternoon.
Seniors
After getting away with a draw when we last met, the boys were hopeful of a better result at home.
Unfortunately the Maroons suffered their first defeat for the season, with their only goal after halftime being scored after the final siren.
With the Roos now breathing down our necks for top spot, the boys will need to regroup and return to form against Cavendish this week.
Reserves
The Reserves faced a tough game again, with second spot potentially on the line.
Coleraine played some great footy, particularly defensively in the first half to eventually score by about four goals to now be sitting two games clear in second spot, but with a date against 4th placed Cavendish coming up.
A-Grade
The girls put up a great fight against netball powerhouse Westerns.
Westerns have been one of the dominant teams in recent years and it shows the improvement that the A-Grade girls have made when they only went down by 5 goals.
B-Grade
The girls tried hard but found Westerns a bit too strong this time.
They worked hard and hopefully can come home with a win this week against Cavendish.
C-Grade
C-Grade continue to try hard and educate themselves for the future and it's unfortunate that the results aren't going their way.
No doubt it will soon girls, so keep battling !!
Under 17's
In a pretty tough game, the U/17's again missed out in a close one, only going down by 9 against a handy Westerns lineup.
These girls will be very hard to stop next season.
Under 15's
The Under 15's, like C-Grade is learning a lot this year which will help them next season.
The girls put in an excellent effort this week and hopefully a win is just around the corner.
Under 13's
The Mini-Maroons have really been the flag bearers for the netball this year and continued on their way with a fine win against Westerns.
The girls are sitting in second at the moment and are playing really well and we all hope that the future of our club can keep it going !!
This week we are home to Cavendish and with the Bloods always up for a fight, it should be an great day of close contests.
So come on over to Silvester Oval, buy a Chronicle and enjoy an interesting day !
