Season & Competitions
Typical season
This Highlands Soccer Association football season generally adheres to the following schedule:
- club registration - February
- finalisation of teams - first half of March
- pre-season cup - second half of March
- main season - April through to August
- finals and presentations - September

Competition categories
The competition is then broken up into the following categories:
- "Miniroos" with six age categories - U6, U7, U8, U9, U10 and U11 - mixed teams
- "Juniors" with two age categories - U13 and U15 - mixed teams
- "Youth' with only one age category - U18 - with boys and girls in separate teams
- "All Age" men and women, with one age categories - 19 and above - with men and women in separate teams
Special information re Youth Grade
In the Youth Grade competition, over 35 year old players can be included in a team (generally in a mentoring / on field coaching role), and in certain circumstances, players from local schools in the district can still play with Bowral FC. More specifically:
- we can rotate as many over 35 players as we like through Youth Grade but only five (5) 35+ players are allowed on the team sheet for any one match and only three 35+ players may be on the field at any one time
- Youth Grade players from the school teams that play in the HSA competition will be permitted to register for Bowral FC to play ALL AGE only on weekends. They cannot play Youth Grade for two different teams in the HSA competition
- Youth Grade players that play for their school in the Inter Schools competition only (i.e they do not play for the school team in the HSA competition) are free to register for Bowral FC's Youth Grade team
