What is Auskick?
Auskick is an AFL initiative designed to introduce primary school aged children to the enjoyment of Aussie rules football.
At Seaford Auskick we encourage the participation & enjoyment of football in a non competitive enviroment.
We teach the basics of football to both boys and girls, so as to ready them for when they take the next step to junior footy.
All our coaches (who are parents of participating children) are accredited to at least level one standard of AFL coaching and have also undergone police checks.
Seaford Auskick have a strong link to the Seaford Junior Football Club and we often have their junior coaches & players attend many sessions throughout the year.
We share the same venue and many of our Auskickers have gone on to the club to further persue their careers.
Cost for the year is $60.00 which includes a back pack full of goodies, including a beanie, drink bottle amongst other things and most importantly, a FOOTY.

Venueis the Belvedere Reserve (East Rd) Seaford.
1st session of Auskick is traditionally round 1 of the AFL home & away season and normally ends round 22 of the AFL season.
Your child will be placed in a group of children of the same age and taken to a section of the ground to begin his football career.
A session lasts for 1 & 1/2 hours and generally consists of 1 hour of drills then a 30 minute match. There is no tackling or kicking off the ground during the match to encourage all children to have the confidence to get involved. We try to ensure each child gets a kick wherever possible.
Drink breaks are taken at the coach's discretion.
We have a first aid kit located next to the front door for your convenience. A number of coaches are trained to at least a level one first aid standard.
Raining. A rule of thumb is if it is raining steadily or has been raining for a number of hours prior to the start of a session, then there will be no Auskick on that day due to your child's comfort & safety as the ground could be wet & slippery.
Group carers are the parents wearing a fluoro jacket and are there to support your child should he or she need to go to the toilet, require a drink or maybe just want to find mum or dad. This relieves the coach from being distracted from his group.
All Coaches are all trained to at least level one standard by the AFL and are generally the parent of a child in that group. They have all had police checks performed each year prior to start up.
We normally have a sausage sizzle on the last Saturday of each month though this depends on the weather or special events.
Presentation Day is always held on the final session of Auskick.
Volunteers are an essential part of junior football.
You don't need to have played footy before to be able to help out on the day. Sometimes it is just as simple as throwing the ball back to the coach or helping keep the children in their lines.
The more the merrier. Please DO put your hand up. It's only an hour & half a week and you still get to see the whole session!
The Canteen is our main source of income for the clinic, and enables us to keep replacing our jumpers, footy's etc. It is an essential part of football life. Please support our canteen, you will find the prices welcoming.
We have a strong link to the Seaford Junior Football Club and many of our Auskickers have gone onto the club and enjoyed many years of football with their friends. The S.J.F.C. support Seaford Auskick by allowing us full use of their facilities as well as providing financial support by offering a subsidized fee if your child registers at the club as well as at Auskick. (Under 9's & 10's only & a limit of 1 child per family).
We hope all players and parents enjoy their time at Seaford Auskick and look forward to many years of enjoyment playing football.
