History

The St. Thomas Basketball Club was established in 1982 by interested parents seeking to create a Club and an atmosphere for their children to learn and improve their basketball skills and coordination, develop teamwork skills and to have a family oriented social environment. The Club started with six boys and five girls teams, catering for some 79 players. Today almost 30 years later, the Club has enjoyed many successful seaons, with many Premierships throughout the various age groups, as well as providing many fine players who have gone onto bigger and better achievements.

The Club caters for 14 boys and 7 girls teams as well as 5 senior sides. This constitutes over 170 families within and around St. Thomas and the greater Greensborough community.

As a successful Club, St. Thomas promotes a “Teams Skills” motto and each side and each player is being challenged to demonstrate those skills in a new and exciting environment.

Our Training Venue

Through the 2009-2011 government initiative – Building the Education Revolution, St Thomas’ was able to construct a fantastic multi-purpose hall.

This hall is able to be used for a multitude of purposes, such as an extra recreational space for the school, various sports – including netball and basketball. It is also used for performing arts, incorporating a stage, sound system/speakers and a special ecoustic design to maximise volume and clarity.

The St Thomas multi-purpose hall is a valuable asset to the St Thomas community.
