Venues - Training

Training venues, nights and times are determined by the Logistics Officer in liaison with the Coach/Team Manager of each team. At present each team is allocated one hour for training either on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night. On occasions when one venue is not available an alternate venue will be organised by the Logistics Officer. In the case of any training issues, the decisions will preside with the President/Vice President and List Manager.

It is very important that the Club is aware of when and where a team is training to ensure players are covered by insurance if injured and also to comply with the safety and wellbeing of the players.

Venues provided for training have strict guidelines that SBOCBC must adhere to and a breach of such guidelines has the potential to comprise the Club’s ability to secure and utilise these venues.

Under NO circumstances should Team Officials allow players to train unsupervised at any of the Training venues or venues not timetabled in the Logistics.

The above is especially important for the St Bernard's College campus where the following additional rule applies;

  • The earliest training time is 4:30PM as agreed with St Bernard’s College and St Bernard’s College Sports Board.

Due to strict child protection policies implemented at St Bernard's College, violation of this rule would constitute a breach of school policy and ‘Child Safety Code of Conduct’.

These venues are booked and paid for by the Club. Venues are as follows;

St Bernard’s College:

41 Rosehill Rd, Essendon VIC 3040 (entrance on Hampton Road)

Avondale Heights (behind the Learning Centre/Library):

4

Rosehill College:

Medical Advice

Parents are encouraged to inform Team Officials of any medical conditions. Please note that it is NOT mandatory for Team Officials to have first-aid training.

The Club strongly supports players wearing an approved and appropriately fitted mouthguard at game day. Most major health funds cover the fee for a custom fitted mouthguard so contact your Health fund for further details.

Ambulance subscription is also highly recommended.
