The win Saturday put the Seniors four games clear on top with three to play and guarantees us finishing on top of the ladder for the 21st time in the 56th year of the competition. Well done to Harmit Singh and the players, but we all know that we achieved this last year with no ultimate glory. The upset came with a Reser4ves going down by 14 points. They were outplayed, but still paid the price for many missed opportunities when kicking with the wind.
The Under 19’s actually looked like the first casualty of the day when Blackburn seemed in complete control at three quarter time with our boys having only a one point margin and Blackburn kicking with wind in final term. They had kicked 7 goals with this advantage in the 2nd quarter. But good sides find a a way and we did with Matt Brown the star kicking three goals to get the win by 7 points . Blackburn did not goal.
The Glen Waverley Eagles U19’s did not do as well and went down by 19 points to Donvale who they will probably face then again in the finals.
The big winners this week was the NETBAL Girls who had a big win after weeks of hardship. Great effort and now for two in a row next Friday.
