Semi Finals Result for Uni Rebels League Teams

 

 

 

 

 

The Rebels Women's side started out great and kept the game close in the first quarter matching Eagles point for point and ended the first term 14 to 15. They kept the same offensive output in th second quarter and ended the half tied 29 to 29. It was the same story in the third but Eagles going in to the final break with a 2pt lead 40 to 42. But the Rebels defense collapsed in the fourth quarter and got out scored 12 to 21, and Eagles winnning the game 52 to 63. Leading scorer for Rebels are Ambah Kowcun(20), Danille Ponter(12) and Kiki Tilmouth(12).

 

Rebels Men's Team was short handed tonight and only played 5 players against a full strenght Palmerston side. But this did not fased a determined Rebels side to go and secure a spot in the Grand Final. Uni Rebels started out well in the first 5 minutes af the game and kept it close, but went in to double digit deficit to end the first quarter 18 to 28. But the relentless Rebels came back in the second quarter and out scored Palmerston 18 to 10 and ended the half just 2pts down 36 to 38. Rebels kept control of the game in the third quarter and got the lead 60 to 58. But fatigue caght up with the Rebels side and was not able to execute in the last 3 possesions and lost the game 73 to 76. Tyler Jefferson(35) led the attack for Rebels and supported by David Ronchi(19) and Larry Hamill(12) with four 3-pointers, Jake Kirby(7) took on the role of point guard and was able to control the tempo of the game. Now Uni Rebels Men's have to take on TV Jets next week in the Preliminary Finals on Friday November 27, 2015 at 8pm on Court 1. Come down and support our boys, see you there!
