The Lindenow Football and Netball Club has appointed its football coaches for the 2014 East Gippsland Football Netball League season.
President Andrew Whitbourne has welcomed a commitment by 2011 senior premiership coach Paul Carroll to continue in the role he returned to in 2013.
Reigning thirds premiership coach Brendan Woodward will also resume his role next season after a fantastic first year in the job.
“Paul’s work with all players on and off the field makes him the best man for the job and we’re rapt to have him on-board again,” Whitbourne said.
“He’s already worked hard to retain and recruit players as well as obtaining the services of a quality assistant in David Donchi.
“Brendan wasn’t appointed until almost the last minute in 2013 and it was a terrific effort by him, the players and support staff to win our second thirds premiership in five years.
“It wasn’t a hard job reappointing him and we can see a lot more personal development and potential in Brendan.”
Joining them will be new reserves coach Scott Davidson and Under 16’s coach Matt Whitelaw.
“Scott is still young, has considerable playing experience and knows our club and players very well,” Whitbourne said.
“We think he’ll work well with the playing group and in conjunction with Paul.
“Matt has been at the club for only two years but has been a tireless worker off the field and is the current reserves captain.
“He has coached under 16’s before at Yinnar and we will be supporting him in this critical new role to the East Gippsland Football Netball League Saturday format.”
Lindenow has appointed netball coaches for C Grade (Ainsleigh Whelan), C Reserve (Carrie Ovenden) and D Grade (Alyshia Murphy) but the A and B Grade positions remain vacant. Anyone interested should contact Andrew Whitbourne on 0409 439 280.
