St Clair Redevelopment update!

 St Clair Redevelopment

Opening the Weekly Times Messanger from the 29th June and seeing Thomas Conlin's article about the Charles Sturt Council's plans to discuss the St Clair Redevelopment at the next meeting, surely has provided alot of excitment for Western suburbs residents. Let alone our Woodville Warriors members. There has been alot of work done in the background by a range of people, with our club being right there at the pointy end helping the process! We thank them all for there work so far and we are all extremely hopeful that the proposal for redevelopment is accepted, allowing the Woodville District Basketball Club to grow into the club we want to be!

From the President, Craig Gilbert.

The Woodville District Basketball Club (WDBC) has had a long involvement and vested interest in St Clair dating back to the days of Cheltenham Basketball club when the recreation centre first opened. WDBC has been fully committed to working with the council on this project and commend the work that has been done by the council, focus groups and members of local and federal government. The redevelopment project will deliver one of the best recreation facilities in the state to the local community and cater for future demand. Specifically for WDBC, it allows us to further grow, develop and provide the full pathway of Basketball to the local community from Under 8’s to Premier League/State/National and  Elite district divisions (1 and 2) right through to Domestic Basketball and further provisions to develop all inclusive, multi-cultural programs that cater for a wider cross-section of the community in both genders. We have a long term vested interest in this recreation facility and our link to the local community and appreciate all the work and support that is being placed into the project.
