The Warriors community would like to welcome our women's import Tavarsha Scott-Williams! Tavarsha comes to us from after two years at Texas A&M University. We hope you enjoy your stay in Adelaide, time with the team and have a successful year!
We asked Tavarsha a couple of questions to get to know her:
1. Can you tell us a bit about you basketball career so far?
Well I played high school ball at this small school in Louisiana called Ringgold High. Played since I was in the 6th grade... Graduated with a partial scholarship to Southern University of Shreveport LA, then transferred to another juco in Florida called Northwest Florida State College. Graduated from there and got a full scholarship to Texas A&M University to play ball...
2. Who is your favourite Basketballer (or sporting idol) and why?
Kobe Bryant is my favorite basketball player because i love his work ethic. Hes consistent! Hes a true legend and he loves the game. He could of been gave up after his 2nd injury but he loves the game too much. I hate that he is about to retire.
3. What is your favourite Basketball team and why?
Lakers and Kobe ALL DAY!!.
4. Where did you grow up and what is your favourite childhood memory and why?
I grew up in a small town in North Louisiana called Ringgold.
5. What is your favourite food (or meal)?
Well honestly im country we eat any and everything. but i prefer anything without onions. i love Chicken and Catfish and Shrimp and Crawfish and the list can go on and on and on.....
6. What do you hope to bring and/or what do you hope to achieve and/or what are you looking forward to from your upcoming experience in Australia?
I hope to bring to the team what i been doing my whole life and that is my hustle. I am a hustle player i love to rebound the basketball. i want to be a good teammate to the girls and hope to grow and develop a good relationship with them for this 8 months. Also i am lookin forward to playing the game that i love sooo much the way i know how in Australia.
