SA Country Players named in Australian Opals Squad for Asia Cup selection camp

SA Country Basketball is extremely proud to announce that six former SA Country players have been selected as part of the Chemist Warehouse Australian Opals squad named for the 2019 FIBA Asia Cup selection camp from July 20-28 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Former SA Country Basketball Players:
Abby Bishop – Port Pirie
Alex Wilson – Murray Bridge
Cayla George – Eastern Hills
Tess Madgen - Barossa
Nicole Seekamp - Riverland
Steph Talbot – Yorke Valley

All of these players have been a part of SA Country Basketball’s High Performance Program and State teams competing at Australian National Championships.

Congratulations to all these players, it is great to see SA Country so well represented.

The Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Asia will begin in November where Australia will compete for one of the top four spots to advance to the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in February, 2020. There, the Opals will take on qualifiers from the rest of the world to determine the final 12 spots for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
