The Rockets will now have a NEW HOME!!!!!

We got the most amazing news today, that the State Treasurer, and the Government, have come to an agreement with the Port Adelaide Enfield Council on the sale of a parcel of land on Hampstead Road, next to the Northfield Hospital, for the purpose of building a four court basketball stadium, plus community centre, where we would relocate.

This Messenger Newspaper article tells you most of what we know so far, but I have to tell you that this journey started 20 years ago by a past president, Ross Wolstencroft, who was sent down many a dead end.

The project will come to fruition through the efforts of some of your Club people, councillors from the council, the Mayor, and the wonderful Dana Wortley MP, who has both embraced us, supported us and driven the project with the State Government.
I spoke to Dana tonight and she is keen to drive the project through a consultation process to meet the needs of the community with Council.

Knowing the enthusiasm involved, with Council, I am sure that this is a great new beginning for us, and those living in the Oakden and Lightsview areas.

Mark Hubbard (from Basketball SA) is delighted with the news and believes that NABC is most deserving of new facilities.

We still have a long way to go, but what a wonderful start to the financial year for the whole community.

A very excited and appreciative
David Durant
