The Sabres had the week off last week but had a hard-fought win over the Eagles in their last match. The Sabres sit atop of the table by a game. The Warriors are coming off a close loss tothe Flames, where the Warriors shooting let them down. Woodville had more shots than the Flames last week but were let down by crucial misses. The Warriors have a hard task stoppingthe league leaders this week and getting good looks is an easy way to fix their shooting woes from last week.
Hang Time Prediction: Sturt Sabres
MEN by Daniel Renfrey
Woodville pulled off the upset of the season so far in Round 6, defeating Norwood 106-97 with a fantastic performance offensively and defensively. Not only were the Warriors able to make more than half their shot attempts from 3-point and 2-point range, but they also managed to hold some of Norwood’s best players, namely Legan, who could only manage 5-17 from the field. Perry, Meldrum and Maiorana were all strong for their team, combining for 67 points, 11 assists and 23 rebounds. The struggling Sabres are fresh off of their bye but will have their hands full with a galvanised Warriors roster. Sturt are yet to win a game this season, sitting at 0-6, and will need to play a more efficient game on both ends if they want to get one this week. Widespread scoring, less turnovers and a high intensity defence and the Sabres could find themselves coming away with an upset. However, it is hard to see the Warriors having their newfound momentum halted easily.
