The Mavericks are flying high at the moment, winning their last 4 of 5 including last weekend. They have lost only one game where Carmen Tyson-Thomas has played. It seems every week there is another Maverick stepping up, the past week saw Hayley Wadforth drop 14 points from the bench. The Tigers had a big win last weekend winning by 21 over the Lions. The Tigers had 67 bench points last week and the Mavericks will have to play the full 40 minutes if they want to win.
Hang Time Prediction: Eastern Mavericks
MEN by Daniel Renfrey
Although they played a decent game, the Mavericks will be disappointed with their 109-102 loss to North Adelaide. The team put together some strong offensive play but ultimately turned the ball over too many times and paid the price. Their inability to handle North Adelaide’s presence in the paint was also a telling factor. Vozzo, McGee, Morris and Cherry all stuffed the stat sheet, but the team will need to come together defensively this week if they want to bounce back. Defence was not an issue for the Tigers in their 74-84 win over the Lions however. While the offence was not a standout, Southern managed to hold Central Districts to below-par shooting from the field and only 38 points in the paint. Turnage was brilliant again, with 29 points and 18 rebounds. This game should be an interesting one, with both teams having the ability to dominate on either end. If the Mavericks can tighten up on defence, they have a good chance of getting a solid win in this one.
