At the last committee meeting the Flying 11 Association of NSW decided to proceed with planning for the 2020 - 2021 NSW State Championships.

The first round is scheduled to be hosted by the Bayview Yacht Racing Association on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November.

Due to the current restrictions around Community Sport which inter regional competition the hosting of the State Championships is entirely conditional on an easing of these restrictions. A review of these restrictions is due on 29 September 2020.

Given this uncertaintly and in consideration of the high likelyhood that if we are able to host the State Championships it will be under different circumstances to previous years, i.e. social distancing will have to be imposed, the committe has set an entry fee of zero dollars.

It is hopped that by removing the entry fee parents and sailors will be more willing to enter the event, should we not be able to proceed we will not have to refund entries and that sailors who have moved onto others classes such as the 29er's (who have cancelled their State Championships) and who still have their Flying 11 may join us to enjoy the experience of larger fleet racing.

Of course with the zero entry fee and social distancing requirements we will not be planning to provide food at the venue or some of the give aways we have in previous years.

The Committe has made a decision that the most important thing we can do is to provide an opportunity for all the Clubs to sail together.

The Notice of Race has been posted, under Events 2020-2021 Season. Some changes from previous years have been made to accommodate the possability of the first round been cancelled. These include allowing 4 races in a Day and reducing the number of races required beforethe first and second drop can be applied to the overall score.

The Committee will continue to monitor the situation and do our best to keep sailing under this new normal
