Brisbane Strikers secured a tight 1-0 victory over Redlands United at Perry Park on Saturday night, courtesy of a Jeremy Stewart penalty.

Despite Redlands having the earlier chances, Strikers scored the first and only goal of the match after Stewart sent James Edgar the wrong way from the spot.

Another standout performance from Hiroki Omori ensured Strikers never surrendered the lead, taking top spot from Gold Coast City for at least 24 hours.

Strikers play Brisbane Roar Youth at home next weekend, while Redlands will look to rebound against Brisbane City.
