Feli Sheriff's goal was the difference as Redlands United held on to beat South West Queensland Thunder 1-0 at Cleveland Showgrounds on Saturday night.
Sheriff hassled the Thunder defenders all night and his goal early in the second half delivered the points to the home side.
Thunder did have a chance to steal a point with ten minutes left on the clock, but Nicholas Edwards was left frustrated by the post.
The goal was Sheriff's first of the season and it propelled the Red Devils to their first win in 2017. Thunder are yet to fnish a match triumphant this year, and they are left sitting on one point after three matches.
Redlands head to Western Pride in Round 4, while SWQ Thunder visit the beach to play Gold Coast City.
