SWQ Thunder came crashing back down to earth following last week's celebrations after Brisbane City prevailed 2-1 to claim their first win of the season at Clive Berghofer Stadium.

Samuel Sibatuara delivered the decisive strike from the penalty spot for City with a quarter hour remaining after Antonio Murray’s first-half opener was cancelled out by Thunder’s Mustafa Jafari.

City goalkeeper Timothy Allen proved solid to deny several chances for Thunder in the second half to ensure a maiden three points in the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues for coach John Kosmina.

The win extends City’s perfect record against Thunder in PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues fixtures to five games since 2014.

The result sees Thunder drop to fourth on the table, while City move up to sixth after the opening two rounds of the season.
