Redlands United’s Christian Trovato has done his homework on Brisbane Roar and is fully prepared to make the step-up at QSAC on Saturday.

Still only 17, Trovato is the only Red Devil to be selected in the inaugural PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Under 23 All-Stars squad.

Trovato and teammates will meet the three-time Hyundai A-League Champions in a curtain raiser to the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Elimination Final between Moreton Bay United and Edgeworth Eagles.

The defender is acutely aware of the threat Roar possess in attack and knows he will have to be on his game to shut down the likes of Thomas Broich and Jamie Maclaren.

"I’ve done my research on them and watched their game against Newcastle at Redlands so I know how dangerous they can be up front," Trovato explained.

"It’s not going to be a surprise and I think I’m ready.

"I just have to do my best and have no fear. You can’t be intimated so I just have to go for it and enjoy the opportunity."

Having honed his game with Redlands United's youth team, Trovato has earned the trust of Senior Men’s Player/Coach Graham Fyfe to step up and bolster the side's defence throughout the 2015 season.

"I’m really thankful to the coach for pushing my name forward for the All-Stars side and it’s an amazing feeling to be selected and given this great opportunity," Trovato said.

"I’ve been working hard in training, continuing to push my development and it’s finally paying off."

With an eye on making it to the Hyundai A-League, the disciplined defender knows the match is his chance to impress the right people and take a step closer to his fulfilling his dreams.

“My goal is to be a professional footballer and this game is the place to prove my ability and show what I can do on the field,” he concluded.
